Have BMW CO2 emissions been re-rated?

I have a 335d bought in March 2007, and have been paying VED for a band F car as the published emissions was 200g/km.

But now, on both the BMW website, and the DVLA (VCAcarfueldata.org.uk - VED Calculator), it seems the car is now rated at 177g/km.

Does anyone know how this has happened, and how I get to pay the lower amount?

Regards,

Tommy

I also have a 335d and I think we're stuck with the CO2 value printed on the V5 document which is 200g/km - I'm sure someone will be able to confirm but I assume the 177g/km versions have some of the efficent dynamics trickery that yours and my Sept07 car are missing +++

Gents,

I just got a reply to an email I sent to BMW customer services, and they confirmed that the new rating is due to "efficient dynamics".

What is that? I looked on the BMW website and of the various innovations it seems to me that the stop-start technology is the only one likely to make the difference to overall economy.

The Efficient Dynamics is several innovations that although individually small, when brought together, make quite a difference to the economy of the car +++

Start Stop engine

Brake Energy Regeneration

Electric Power Steering

Air Vent Control

Gear Shift Indicator

Reduced Rolling Resistance Tyres
