Biscuits
Hi ya, Mate is trying to do a deal on an AUC '07 3.2 Manual TT, with nav, bose, EDC, etc. £30k Dealer is being stuborn and won't do a deal at all ! He has a 2004/04 Audi A3 3.2Q Sport DSG, Blue with beige leather, bose, symphony, but just gone over 100,000 miles. Been offered £5k trade in and nothing off the TT. I just think this is very harsh in the curret climate and think there must be a deal to be done, but after a week of talking, the dealer won't budge. His car has just had a new DSG gearbox costing HIM £3k... so he's feeling a bit bitter with Audi at the mo. Any thoughts ? Cheers P
Booster
100k! He must be Shell's best friend:p It books in Glass's (as much as you can book value a car like that) at £6750 but honestly, I really do think that £5k is a very good bid for that car!! Who would buy it?? It has nothing going for it in its favour in the current climate. The dealer will struggle to trade it on and hence their reluctance to move on the p/x. Dealers are becoming more and more stubborn where a p/x is invloved as they don't want to be left holding the baby! Which is exactly what would happen here. If he went in as a buyer with no p/x they would discount for sure.
gizze
Advertise it privately at £5950 and I bet he would sell it in a matter of hours. I am tempted to buy it at that price and I'm not even that keen on them!
gizze
It does make you chuckle when you see all the posts saying, I went for the 3.2 over the S3 as it was a couple fo grand cheaper. An S3 with 100k would still be worth double that.
a3malawimatt
I agree with gizze, advertise it and i bet you sell it very very quickly. someone would love a 4yr old 3.2 for £5k! in fact it is a very tempting prospect!

gizze
Get him to see what he can get a TT for through a broker. If he can save a couple of grand on that and then sell privately he is onto a winner. I would give him £5k for it.
a3malawimatt
Yeah, who cares if they're rubbish when they're that cheap? Wouldn't exactly say they are rubbish, no S3 but imo sound great, fantastic build quality, good image, comfortable to drive and for £5k alot of people would give the left arm for. Even with 100k. Even with 100k. Matt Certainly a lot of car for the money. I'd find myself tempted at that sort of price, and I neither need nor particularly want one. edo
Best way to get a good deal is to sell the A3 privately on here Pistonheads and Auto Trader. Then offer the dealer £28k cash :-) Or better, buy privately - it will be under warranty, so nothing lost. What is the mileage of the car he is looking at? Nav/Bose TT's on Trader for as little as £25k. Autotrader - Audi TT Coupe 3189 cc 3.2 quattro
Biscuits
Thanks for the comments guys, He was getting very dispondant with Audi's attitude, so I said "why don't you take a 135i Coupe out for a spin, just to rule it out" He popped to his local BMW dealer who has an '08 well spec'd one as a demonstrator at the same money as the TT... was blown away with the engine and handling, not so much with the looks or build quality. Anyway, within an hour had a PROPER deal in front of him and "maybe room for a bit more if we can get the deal done quickly" The same dealer even looked to find him a TT within the same group... He has been totaly amazed how one dealer/group is utter sh1t and slow, in yet another is enthusiastic and flexible (oh and aparently she had a nice pair too... which always helps!) Will keep you informed what he does... he's very tempted by the 135i now he's driven it.
edo
If you can live with the looks, the 135i is a cracking car.

a3malawimatt
Lol Merlot, is this going to turn into a tit for tat battle because i pulled you up for trolling in other peoples threads. If you read the thread which happens to be in General cars, the op is not trying to sell his car for the best price he can in the current market. Oh and all i have actually said is that it is cheap for what you are getting, i am not saying it is cheap in the market or compared to others cause frankly i haven't been looking at A3 3.2's. Anyway isn't there another for sale thread for you to be ruining? Matt
Merlot
Nothing more to say - no interest in perpetuating things, sometimes easier to accept that different people have different opinions. Hope you are enjoying your 35d. Mine is great.
