cruiser647
Superb! Had me glued to it (apart from the stars in the cars bit). Great Bentley power house. I'd have that over any Ferrari/Lambo/Porsche. Then the Alfa Challenge. Superb fun. Good to see Jezza having fun in the RWD Alfa 75. I think the old cars performed admirably at Rockingham. Can you imagine ANY other standard cars of similar age fairing any better?
Cupramax
Despite my love for TG I found last nights show poor, as an Alfa fan (and ex owner) I can find no amusement in seeing them just mindlessly wrecking great cars. The Hammond crashing into May's car scenario is soooo tired now they should bin it and think of something new. It would have been far more amusing had May got out of his car at the junction and t_watted Hammond :Slap:
Cagey
I found pretty much all of last nights show quite tedious. The Alfa thing was just dull, bar one or two mildly amusing moments. The Rockingham thing went on faaaaar too long. Re the Bentley, IMO they should have had May testing it properly out on the roads, not just the ususal Clarkson "POWER" nonsense. He would have brought out more of the sense of occasion that (I would think) comes from behind the wheel of such a car. And as has been said by people many times before, 'Star in.....' needs to go. Hope for better next week.
AZURES3
Have to say I thought it was boring. More car reviews and comparisons please. Hardly the show to watch to get an idea on your next car. Even when they do get cars on there they just race them against climbers etc AZ
CJS4
Where was the Stig? Bentley too powerful for him, was it?
steelwind101
Its bit of the old "same old, same old". I know its entertainment but im just not sure the "if aint broke dont fix it" applies here. They need to get some new stuff in, the challenges are not all that intreasting or cool.
gizze
Apart from one or two comments the show was really boring. Time to move on.
danksy
It just smacks of cutting the production budget! It's losing it's appeal for me too, good job I have sky plus
cruiser647
Where was the Stig? Bentley too powerful for him, was it? Not a track car at all! But would have been entertaining to see it hooning round the track.

Even when they do get cars on there they just race them against climbers etc AZ I watched more of this show than the previous few. If they were tracking old Fords/Citroens then I would not have watched it, but I like Alfa's and so watched it. Is TG ever the sort of show for you to get an idea on your next car? May would have been a better bet for the Bentley drive.
sotty
I must say I've always defended TG when people have slagged it off, but I'm afraid to say I found the Alfa farse a bit Deja Vu! (JC could have at least found another colour to paint his car ) Lets hope they find more interesting ways of entertaining us in the future progs. CJS4
Judging from the relationship between Top Gear and Bentley maybe they were'nt allowed to put it on the track. Would have been interesting, though!
mark88
I think they're running out of ideas. They've done the 'here's a grand, buy a car' sketch to death. It's like the gadget show blowing up mobile phones every other week.
stooH
I'm glad to see i'm not alone, I love top gear to bits and always have a laugh at it but last nights was poor for all of the reasons mentioned above. I must say I'm also finding the lines very forced this series, it's so obvious where all the jokes are going and I would say they're not delivering them with the same enthusiasm? Perhaps they're starting to get as bored with the format as alot of other people are? No stig and no top gear stuntman as well Having said all that i'll probably watch it next week, piss my self laughing and it will be my favourite program again. Dave
I don't disagree with what you guys are saying, but I feel that the program has moved from a car review program to light entertainment. I suppose that generally cars are so good nowadays that there is little to separate them. They seldom go wrong, all look pretty and the stigma attached to some brands has gone. Difficult to slag off Seat, or Toyota as we did in the 70's and 80's. That leaves them trying to make a motoring program interesting with little open to them.. there are only so many times you can beat a powerful car to death. I enjoyed the Alfa bit... turning up to a concurs exhibition in those heaps was hilarious.
RedRobin
....I thought that the first two progs in this latest series were excellent but this third one was a big disappointment. There are always moments of great banter between the boys but the rest is getting far too repetitive.
Mouse
I only found the second episode just "ok", and they usually always please me. I am getting bored of SIARPC. The Alfa thing was great fun. I think what would of made last nights episode was maybe another 5 minute segment featuring a new car or something, but overall I really enjoyed it. First episode is the best so far this series
Paul
CRAP. I would usually be happy to be a supporter of TG. But, mirror most of the thoughts above. Bored of a Star or Star(s) in a reasonably priced car Bored of mindless vandalism. Bentley on a track till the tyres blow?? ffs. The only good bit was the blonde in the audience, around SIARPC interview and the New Scirocco, which all they did was point at briefly despite being on the set. WTF was that all about. Newly released car, rave reviews elsewhere, and they just point at it??? Edited July 7, 2008 by Paul
Cuprabob
On a positive note though the girls at the front of the audience are getting nicer. Last nights episode had some of the best
Muppetboy
Don't mind when they're crashing old Datsuns or Aygos but fecking hell doing that to Alfas is criminal...
Nelson_R32
I actually liked the look of that Alfa 75. But lets be honest, they were all well past there best!!

Mouse
I quite like that Alfa 75 now, looks better in black than red, and the engine note speaks for itself... YouTube - Alfa 75 V6 3.0 music
cruiser647
The Alfa 75! Funny handbrake and electric window switches on the ceiling! Great effort on balance and unsprung weight with inboard brake discs, just a bugger to change!
_Tone_
I must be easily pleased because although some of it is a bit repetative I had a good laugh at it. My simple mind put my body in neutral and I just had a good laugh, as someone else said the you laydees inthe front were quite niiice! I thought James May coming 10th in the sexiest 10 womens race drivers was an funny find... Tone
