Hopsta
Is there anyway that I can see Citrix PS on a Desktop (Vista) install? Never used the product or seen it so really want to see what there is to it so that I can appear to be informed ablout it. I haven't blagged it on my CV, before anyone asks
Mac
Sure you can - run it in VMWare Server. It's a piece of piss to set up. PM your email address mate I've been involved in some of the biggest Citrix deployments in the UK from a design perspective - and some smaller implementations. It's as complex a product as you want to make it though. To do an implementation properly takes considerable knowledge of environment tuning and the like, but to implement a small system or manage one is pretty straight forward. Mac
To givey ou an idea of the complexity by the way, a 10k seat deployment design I did for a certain television company ran to some 600 pages for the detailed design

Mac
You can run it via VMWs with a machine with 1/2Gb ram - it's not ideal but it does work. Personally I think Citrix has lost its way slightly with PS3,4,4.5/XENAPPS. The management is more distributed and some of the technologies don't quite work as expected. Still a great produt set though I don't do an awful lot of Citrix now - I used to though. It could be quick an interesting area to work in and if you want to get a far sounder technical understanding of the Windows platform for both server & client side configurations I don't think you'll get a better environment to learn in. Waylander
Interestingly, do you recall all the hassles I had getting that Citrix portal to work pn my pc Mac? Well on vista it "just works".
Cupramax
It must be just about the only thing that does...
