nicks3
Does anyone know the difference between the 2005 272 bhp 535d engine, the 2006 286bhp 335d engine and the 2008 X5 SD 286bhp engine?
tom_hargreaves
They are the same engine. A 3 litre straight six with Twin Turbo's. Emissions are lower on the newer 286bhp versions over the 272bhp. But the core design of them is identical, minus a few bits and pieces to increase efficiency and reduce C02 output. Oli
I think the block is different on the newer 286 engine???
Merlot
More importantly, DMS will only remap them to the same output so I guess they don't feel that the updated engine (or the gearbox) is any stronger.
