AydinU
Hi All, I have an A3 2.0TDI and recently my glow plug indicator light started flashing whilst driving. So I booked into the Audi garage and when i got it back they told me the glow-plug system was fine but the indicator was in fact for faulty brake lights and that they were constantly on and that my brake light switch was faulty. Naturally this was a surprise to me and when I looked it up in my manual it seems there are seperate indicators for a faulty brake light switch and nothing of this nature is mentioned under the glow plug system indicators. Any thoughts on this? I'm concerned that they are doing random work on my car! Many thanks Aydin
kite
No, flashing glow plug light is a sign of a broken brake light switch.
shark_90
Your vehicle manual will tell you nothing of use - because they want you to take it to a dealer to be repaired, so you spend more money. Flashing glow plug can be a number of things and faulty brake light switch is indeed one of them

Hopsta
Well the i've got the glow of doom flashing away, had just changed the headlight bulbs for some Osram Night breakers. Most of the goggling points to brake light sensors. Will pop up to the old mans tomorrow and get him to plug in the lappy. Any other pointers, can't be arsed swapping the bulbs back over again.
