_Tone_
So I just about shot my wad looking through the car porn classifieds in PH and came accross this (hmmm..) and was wondering if I got rid of the porker and got this for say 1 year - what would I lose in 12 months do you reckon? I would prefer red to be really honest but a Fezza is a Fezza!! Amari Super Cars GB - Lamborghini, Ferrari, Bentley, Pagani,Bugatti,SLR & Porsche The other thing is what sort of maint costs would this little bugger incurr? shark_90
Jesus that's cheap! It's a manual so non of the F1 clutch problems that cost so much to do every time.. just ask insurance_jon! At that price, how much could you lose? 5k? Sounds like a bargain if you can afford to run it. Hopefully some people with some experience of ownership (i.e. not me!) can help on the running costs but unless something goes wrong with it surely it can't be that bad. And being a used car bought from a dealer it must come with 3 months warranty anyway?? Perhaps with the option to buy a full 12 months? Do it! Muppetboy
Tone, haven't got a clue how much you will lose or what it would cost to run but life is too short, GO FOR IT +++
Dave
43,000 miles and 6 owners! why so many?.. i'd want to check that out.
Mook
Sounds like a bargain if you can afford to run it. A good friend has just sold his 360. He reckons over the 3 years since he's had it, it's cost an average of £3K per year in servicing in maintenance. OK, so they're more common, but personally I'd hunt for an early 997 for that kind of money, because they're a shed load cheaper to maintain. Not uncommon for performance cars like Fezzas and Porkas to have many owners. The type of people that go for them get bored quickly and will go to the newest model!! Cheers Tone Have you driven a 360 Tone? ***puts on Ferrari branded fireproof jacket*** It's not very nice to drive or much cop to be honest.....especially the handling. At that price a Porsche is a far more sensible buy. Or if you can stretch to a F430 that is a sorted Ferrari.
Merlot
Never driven a Ferrari since the day I test drove a 355 a decade ago and couldn't work out what all the fuss about mid engined V8's was about. PS Had previously driven a 550, now that was special. They are available for £40k now and if they had kids seats in the back, I'd be tempted
Merlot
PPS don't tell me about the 456 as its impossible to get a manual gearbox, post 98 car at the right price/condition.

Wouldnt say they are not much cop, but they are a serious handful. In the wet, simply a joke!!! Apparently, there is also an 'issue' (more a funky Italian design fault) that if you start to loose the back-end, the traction kicks in - all well and good - but if you take your foot off the throttle too much whilst it is doing this, it cuts 100% of the power to the rear wheels, resulting in a spin..... nice! I think i have described this right - never driven one that far on the limit, so cant comment from experience  Still, i have to say, they are a truly stunning car. Its smelly, hot, old fashioned (but oh so chic) inside. I love them to bits..... REALLY love them and i am not really a huge Ferrari fan Do it.... you never know what is around the corner (but you need to in a Fezza 360 ). Merlot
I think that's more to do with how basic the ASR is on the 360. Remember that was Ferrari's first attempt at traction control on any of its cars. edit: I think the 550 was a year (97 vs 98?) earlier but at least that didn't have a huge weight in the back to swing round. Drinks
A colleague of mine has been to look at it he said I have been to look at a couple of 355s and have also been up to Amari to look at this 360. The one at amari is a bit tatty inside - I think would be able to get it for 35k. There is a big file of invoices/repairs that have been done to keep the car maintained over the years and it kind of frightened me off. I reckon about 3-5k a year on maintenance!!! alera
Way things are I would factor in 10k depreciation at least over 12 months. With these cars more than any condition is king and anything over 30k is considered high mileage. If it doesn’t have cast iron full service history don’t even consider it and or if it’s ever been in an accident. 3k a year for servicing is also very low even with an indie; that would only cover 1 small to average problem. I would have a reserve and expect to spend at least 5 - 7k year 1 on a car of that year and mileage even if it had been properly serviced and was in good condition. My Masers got 430 underpinnings, engine block, trans axel, f1 pump, most of the transmission. The suspension, brakes and drive train are Ferrari part bin sourced. I get mine serviced by a Ferrari / Lambo indie now and have a mate who has had a few Fezzas so I do know a bit on these. You want an honest answer cars that age and mileage can be a money pit. Check out the Fezza forums, talk to a few owners as long as you go in eyes wide open that’s the main thing. _Tone_
Hello Chaps Work has taken over my life (and for that i will be ever thankful in this dire economic state that we are in) so been unable to get on the board, wow good range of responses, so to answer a few of the questions - No not driven one but I am going to be up in Lancashire (Liverpool/Warrington, Manchester) next week and have asked for an appointment to drive. I must admit £3k for a years maintenance is very steep - like some of you say the Porsche is considerably cheaper - but when I pop in I will review the maintenance records to see what sort of money has been spent on it. I've driven a few in PGR 3 and it was a blast - handling was awsome (he says with a grin...) On a more serious note - I reckon it would be used very little in the wet but then I would want to probably do 6000 miles a year - pretty sure I'll be popping into a shell petrol station everyday! Chriiiiist! - Just saw what Drinks has said - well I'll take a look - but if I was to spend £3-5k a year - well thats serious consideration! I'm gonna have to ask for a pay rise..... Dear boss - I know you think I am already a flash git with the yellow porker but now I want a ferrari can you give me a pay rise? I can see a big FECK off coming! Ho hum its good to dream - I will report back when I have seen the car. Adios Tone

dazmondo
Gotta intrude on this one ! the new Fezzas just dont rock me boat, personaly im a lover of the old skool 328`s, Ive been fortunate to drive a selection of models and still find the old one`s more desireable even though the electrics are unreliable i believe its part of the coarse of owning one. Mook
Agree it used to be, but, AFAIK, the 360 and 430 aren't plagued with the same electrical problems. The 355 and earlier models look a bit too out-dated for me now, even though I'm a big 80s and 90s car fan. Not that I'd own a Fezza - we live in the sticks and it'd be covered in sh*t all the time! AudiPartner
Man, thats only £2k more than my Porsche!! Which is apparently the better car, so I shouldn't be too disappointed! Hmmm....
tom_hargreaves
I think 3k for maintenance on this car in 12 months is quite ambitious to be honest. not factoring in any problems that might arise. And the depreciation will be monumental. That mileage on a Ferrari is considered very very high.
Mort
don't be shy - make a silly offer - live short term and do it. You may not have it forever but you can always say you had one.
