CarMad
Well as many of us have said the teams don't want it but this week the FIA said they want to go ahead with it. But this is the reaction.... autosport.com - F1 News: Toyota boss warns against standard engines and autosport.com - F1 News: Ferrari in quit threat over standard engine Now I'm not keen on Ferrari but I certainly don't want them to leave F1 nor do I want to see Toyota leave. Seems to me they are just trying to push the teams and see how soft they are ... will it back fire I wonder?
Luke
Great to see the teams telling Kinky and Dwarf to feck off. Jesus F1 will be more like A1GP with these engine proposals. About time some of the teams used their power and showed some backbone. Kinky thinks he rules the world and Ferrari basicaly telling him to p1ss off will send a shiver down his spine. And with the disaster of the non North American race (unless Canada comes back on board) might make Ferrari think Indy!!! Time for a very public Indy car photoshoot in Ferrari colours...... CarMad
Ferrari in Indy that would really shake things up.
Teacake
It's of course not at all surprising to find that the manufacturers aren't totally keen on the idea of a standardised engine, but it's a bit of a shock to see Ferrari reacting so publicly. Hopefully this will give the FIA pause, and make them think before throwing their weight around. F1 could survive the loss of any other single team, but Ferrari... there's a good chance the spectators and the money would follow them wherever they go. bullett
What a crap idea. Are FIA trying to kill F1, all the controvosy this year and now this?
Tipex
I somewhat suspect it's all just another elaborate publicity stunt to promote discussion and interest in F1. And it's working!!
bfc1912
Why is trying to make all the cars more even going to be detrimental to formula 1? Some of the best races this season have been in the wet when the playing field is more level and driver skill is more on show. I agree that standardising things stifles development so how about limiting team budgets so make them more creative.
bullett
If they want to save money they could just stop changing the rules every year...

F1 is as much about technical excellence as it is racing, had to believe I know but its been that way since the very beginning. Take that away and all you have is A1GP or GP2 what makes F1 different????? As above they should leave the rules alone for a while, its the development costs that kill the budgets.
