I'm tempted, but thought you were based in Cambridge. Thats only 65 miles from Norwich, but Ware is just over a 100.

The correction detail looks promising, but would go with what you recommend

What woudl I do all day in Ware? Or could I watch you guys doing the work (so to speak?). Would love to get a better insight into this stuff if possible.

(I just enquired about a course that a detailer down near Gatwick was offering)

Matt contact Gary @ Refined Reflections hes an awesome detailer and a personal friend. +++

Cheers for the recommendation. (I had heard about Garys works before from some friends, but had thought Nathans deal looked pretty good too)

Mind you, i've not heard nothing back from Nathan on here, nor my email, so I reckon he must be pretty busy again.

I'll drop Gary an email, & might try and arrange something for over the festive period when I've got a couple of weeks off.

Cheers

Cheers for the recommendation Graham, hope things are going well, just back from 3 weeks working in Europe :)

Matt, I won't get into a price war as I feel my prices are a true and fair representation of my work, I agree Nathan's 30% off looks good even if it does look at the same time as his initial prices were over inflated to allow for such discounts. Also the earliest I can fit anyone in now is 2nd week in Jan, I'm booked solid and also looking at buying another business plus employ a couple to help me cope with the work load, but give me a shout, we can chat and discuss things, no promises on fitting you in but we can see.

was a time i would come on here all guns blazing... but i cant really be bothered anymore to be honest... fact is gary is a pretty good detailer (if not a bit of a cock sometimes... as i can be!) and every detailer has their own prices... Polished bliss are running at about £600-£900 for a correction... and the lower end are running at about £250 for a correction.. Its just all about how much you feel you are worth and for the past 2 years i feel ive been worth that much and have proved it by consistently being booked.. however the credit munch has messed that up hence the temporary price drop to get the ball rolling again... but thanks for your input Gary.. and for trying to hijack the thread custom.

As for Matt.. i have your email and apologies for not replying before.. i will do so now.

Hmm, i don't usually enter into these sorts of forum bun fights but I feel I must add that JediKnight has made great contribution to this cleaning forum for some time now and I for one have enjoyed reading his posts over time.

Competitive world or not it doesn't seem correct or more importantly professional, to hijack someones thread who has made the effort to offer a discounted service to other members. I somehow doubt this would be tollerated on DW?!

I have to agree. Business or not, it made for uncomfortable reading..

Hey, Nathan knows me well enough to know no matter what I say I have full respect for him and his work.

As for me hijacking a thread, heck I didn't know anything about this post till it showed up on my website tracking, I followed the link and posted a thanks to Graham, who by the way lives 400 odd miles away and I see/talk to once or twice a year.

Prices, if you want a price look at my site, its all there in black and white, but sorry I won't be taking any bookings this side of the new year. All I said about Nathan is economy or not, dropping prices by 30% is more than a discount, if it was curry's doing this we would all ask if they were asking too much in the first place, there again each business is different so I'll leave it at that, mine have not changed in over a year and will not be changing either way in the foreseeable future.

Hey Nathan, you still owe me a coffee from the meet at the Little Chef :P

I have no hidden charges or "plus vat" others seem to charge

Correction £350-£400

Protection £180

Dont understand the ''plus vat'' others seem to charge comment. They must only charge vat because their turnover is over the vat limit and they have too.

i do, i think, it's like if you're charging for a service where the majority of your customers are not VAT reg then you should always put the total price down, rather than a 'plus VAT' figure - far easier for comparability!

although to be fair most people aren't going to struggle to work it out!

Am i missing something... don't you need to be VAT registered to charge or claim back the VAT? I suspect most detailers will be VAT registered as they buy feckin expensive detailing products, so will want to claw back the 17.5%.... no 15% (thanks darling for fecking up everyone's price lists!).

Plus VAT or Excl VAT it makes no odds as long as it's clearly stated which you are quoting. I hate finding out something is +vat after it's not been clearly shown as ecluding it.
