bigboss Posted November 10, 2008 Report Share Posted November 10, 2008 hi, im having some problems with door speaker in my mk 3 golf. none of the speakers on the left side of the car are working, maybe ive been playing my music too loud:( Ive been told that it could either be dead speakers or just wiring problems. any ideas will be much appreciated????? mb Posted November 10, 2008 Report Share Posted November 10, 2008 After the obvious of checking the balance etc. if you have 2 speakers eg back/front or woofer & tweeter (one in door one near window) then you should hear something. Turn the balance full front/left etc. & if you hear nothing on the left it is more likely a wiring fault (could be as simple as wire has come off the speaker. What you do next is up to you, if the speakers are easy to get to you can check the wires are still connected, or take out the HU & swap the feeds if the right feed no longer makes sound its the wiring if it does its the HU. You can also test the wiring by putting a 9v battery on the "stereo" end of the wires & you should hear a bit of noise from the speaker. It shouldn't be too difficult just needs a bit of troubleshooting before you can fix it. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
