Tipex
You obviously go to the wrong parts of Brighton, Tipex, but then if you're dropping off students It's only ten mins down the road from where I live, yes there are some nice restaurants, and some interesting boutique shops down in the lanes, and it has a very diverse culture and a great mix of people. But, It's a filthy disgusting sh1te hole, and is crumbling away because they seem to have stopped maintaining everything, Churchill square shopping centre is a waste of time, all the car parks are a total and utter rip off, and the whole place has just gone downhill rapidly since it took on city status, everything has got more expensive since Brighton became city, they are charging London prices, but they need to realise they aren't London. It used to be a brilliant town for clubbing, and nightlife in general, but have a look at the clubs/pubs now, they are all falling apart and in dire need of a revamp. Once upon a time, you could go to Brighton on any night of the week, and it was buzzing, great atmosphere, go now and it's deserted save for a few chavs, on anything but a saturday night. The only place worth going now is one of the casino's, and that can get expensive
Andrew
Seconded over stuff falling apart. I stayed in the Hilton Metropole last year; it cost me £200 for a standard room and was possibly the biggest rip-off I've ever known. The place is an utter dump and the room was tiny. Mook
Oh the Metropole is a sh*t-hole alright - I stayed there about 8 years ago and it was a dump then!
