Frodo
Ok well I am stumped. Is it possible/easy to get the audio track off a DVD. I have just purchased, umm well how can I put this, Rattle and Hum and want to get the audio off the DVD so I can cut a CD. I know but it is a trip down amnesia lane for me and reminds me of my teens. TIA

Frodo
Yeah had a look at the DVD Audio Ripper. If I output to wav file will I suffer any degradation in audio quality. I don't want to rip to MP3 because of the loss of quality. I know I'm fussy.
Punjabi-A4
Noh Mister Frodo! the quality should be pretty good...probably in stereo, 44.1khz and 16bit.
Gabster
Yeah the U2 Go Home DVD is awsome better than the Boston DVD released just after the tour. I was at the Slane gig it was amazing, spent three days in Ireland without a hotel sleeping rough in Dublin, ferries and surrounding countryside, me and my six mates had about six hours sleep over the whole weekend, thanks to dubious substances and massive amounts of guinness. Also got to see the Chilli Peppers and Coldplay supporting brilliant. I hasten to add I had a nine inch wound under my arm which had gone septic from an operation a month earlier, which I had to bathe every four hours. How I never ended up in hospital I will never know good old Floxipen antibiotics.
Frodo
Thanks Punjabi for the advice. Must say I am all a bit new to this stuff. I listen mostly to CDs and MiniDiscs in the car. Listening between MP3 and Full CD quality is very noticeable to me and I prefer the greater depth. All I need to do is put all my CDs onto my laptop then I don't have to bother tyring to find them. Next I need a port replicator for my Vaio so I can use the audio output and S-Video output to my TV and Hifi.
Frodo
Well thought you might like an update. Used DVD Audio Ripper to rip off the audio from Rattle and HUm as wav files. I have now used Nero to cut all the commentary and excessive crowd response. Then faded in and out each track, finally cross-fading tracks where necessary. What can I say I am well impressed, quality CD and totally unique. Well chuffed
