Gangle
I have decided to keep my Q7 for at least another year so decided to spend a bit of money on it, so have added some 21" titanium finish alloys, the wheel arch extensions and running boards. Managed to get the genuine alloys from ebay, brand new and never seen the road for £1800 fitted with Dunlop Sport Maxx tyres, the running boards and arch trims came via Nelson at Ipswich Audi with a bit of discount!. I am going to take guesses on the cost of the trims (10 pieces, unprimed which I had to paint and fit). What do you think? I love it.

zed
Gangle, that looks really nice! I'm looking to buy a Q7 and one of the first things I was going to do was to change the wheels. I've read somewhere that to fit the 21" Audi wheels you must have the wheel arch extentions fitted. Is this true? Thanks!
Gangle
Zed You can still fit the 21" wheels without the trims, I had the wheels on for about a month before going for the arch trims. In my opinion though the 295 tyres stick out a bit too far and don't look quite right without them. Simon
zed
That's great, thanks for the info. Are the arch trims the little non-glossy lips around the arches in your pictures?
Gangle
Thats right, 10 little pieces of self adhesive unprimed plastic (easy to spray though with matt black paint) but the catch is the price, just about £800! Absolute rip off, especially when these are included as free if you spec the 21" as factory option.
Dave
I've got 21" alloys (not the titanium mind!) and running boards.. i think it really sets the car off nicely.
Harrogate_chris
Hi Wheels look superb, arches great too but as you allude to, a tad expensive for what they actually are! Re running boards, never been 100% convinced, somedays they're a yes, other days a no for me. Look good on yours though! C
