why do you ask out of intrest? The point is if we wanted the other car of equal value we would have bought it no? Are you asking if we made our choise based on german reliability, service and running costs or simply what was our second choise?

May just be asking, but got me thinking.

Running an Audi A3 s-line 2.0Tfsi and and Land Rover Defender at the moment......I`am going to sell the A3 in the Autumn so I`v been asking myself this very question.....I`am in the fortunate position were I can upgrade £££ so I`ve been seriously thinking of getting a Jag XF....I`v specced one up...been to the dealers;offered a discount.....but I still have this nagging little worm in my head telling me....You don`t need a car as big as a Jag.....so why spend the extra £££.

The A3 has been a great little runner and I truly can`t think of a like for like replacement...apart from a Golf or BMW Series1......Still; if I was feeling brave I could take a closer look at an Alfa Romeo Giulietta...Cloverleaf

159 is an absolute beauty.

It has the absolute best stance of any car on the market today.

Seriously, next time you see one, just have a look, a real good look, the wheel/wheel arch gap is perfect, the way it sits, nose slightly lower, stunning.

If I didn't need the extra seats of my Galaxy, I'd be cabbing in a 159, no question.

It's an interesting question.

I could be awkward and say if I had a German car I'd swap it for a Subaru.

But in truth I probably wouldn't. Depends what the car needed to do I guess. If I had to avoid German and Japanese... a 159 2.4JTD TI in rosso/tan would be awfully tempting (and a bit cheaper). Otherwise I reckon I'd be looking at a Jag (probably XF) or maybe an R-Design V70. Or a used Quattroporte.

If I had to swap the A6 Quattro avant for something none German it would be a Forester.

If I had to swap the 1 series for a non German small hatch, or even non BMW small hatch, I think I would get a Citroen DS3 just cause their funky.

Lichfield Type 25

Any idea how much these cost nowadays?

£35K new, so about £20K now, even for a 5 year old one. 350bhp of turbo'd madness

IIRC, the new Litchfield is a Type 20 isn't it?

I'd choose a Megane Renaultsport 250 (or whatever) they're called - saw a new one this morning and I'd take that any day over a Scirocco R +++

If it was just for the looks, it's be an Alfa Brera Prodrive. Lush :D
