Aletank
I have a 05 Audi A4 2.0T S-Line with 126,000 miles with FASH,Graphite Grey available to me for £4k It's from a M8 of a M8, it use to be his mother in laws company car until he bought it from the company about 12 months back for £4200. Just before he got it, it had a £1600 Audi service. I've been told the alloys could do with a refurb and there is a scrape on the front wing, so a front wing respray would be in order. Would this be a Quattro ? It has twin exhausts I've not seen the car myself as yet Really not sure what to do, I have a Mint 1999 Mercedes C200 auto Sport in Obsidian Black, 95k miles, which I've had for 8 years and really cherish it. I paid £12k for it when it was 3 years old with 50k miles FMSH. Probably not worth alot now, £2k on a good day to the right person maybe. What your thoughts guys
Scotty
I've no idea but if they bought it for £4.2k 12 months ago then doesn't £4k seem a little greedy. They want a years motoring for £200?!? Yeah we'd all like that.

Yeah, I been through the online price guides, They seem to start on Autotrader at £6k, was thinkin of buyin it and havin a think between mine and the A4 which one I want and if push come to shove, hopin WeBuyAnyCar would offer £5k for the Audi(for a hassle free sale)The glass's(Vauxhall website) give the below prices for a Trade In price 126k miles Excellent Cond - £5760 Average Cond - £5190 Below Average - £4620 Edited May 16, 2010 by Aletank
cruiser647
The twin exhausts mean it's not a quattro. The quattro models 'usually' had/have an exhaust at each side. £200 for a years motoring - genius. (if they can get it), especially if it needs work! If they can't be bothered to look after the alloys, then what else...... A £1600 Audi service doesn't mean much in reality. Could be the garage loading on stuff, all sorts. Aletank
It has a exhaust each side but I'm thinking it's not a Quattro Goin to have a look at it in a bit
SINGH
Come on guys, is £4k really unreasonable for that car? So what if they only lost £200, seems to me like they got a bargain and aren't asking for loads now either. I would expect a car like this to be on sale for £6k+. The price is more then fair, the fact they only lost £200 for a years motoring is good for them. I think its a steal at that price mate, go for it if its all in order, alloys can easily be refurbished. I have brought old BMW's for £300ish, ran them for a few months and sold them for more then double what I paid on more then one occasion Edit: Glasses guide can go to hell, I just had a look on autotrader and couldn't find any for the ridiculous prices they quote, is that trade pricing? Aletank
Just been to see the car and bought it !! Alloys arn't that bad, There's a scrape on the front wheel arch that needs doin, Airbag light is on, Glovebox handle is not workin, like a spring came off, you open it from the side panel, Been 12k since last service. Not sure if i'll keep it or not yet  Interior is like new and the car is average 05,you wouldn't guess the 126k miles !
S4_marv
Sounds like a decent buy. Find someone nearby with VAG COM and a cable to get the airbag light checked out. It may be an intermittent fault, and clearing the fault could be the end of the issue. However if the fault comes back you obviously want to get it checked out. I think the glovebox issue is quite common. Searching around should provide some good info on how to get that fixed. Congratulations on the purchase! Aletank
Here's my plan, Goin to get the Audi, put it in the garage and give it a good clean up etc, the insurance is up on my C-Class on the 24th of May, i'll renew that, Got a weddin job for the C-class on the 28th. Then I'll swop my insurance over to the Audi and garage the C-class while I use the Audi and get the little jobs sorted out on it. The Audi is taxed till the end of August so that will be my deadline to make a decision on which to keep.(prob well b4 that though)
cruiser647
Is it a quattro? Should say so on the dashboard fascia above the glovebox.
Aletank
I asked him today if it's a Quattro, he said no, It has a exhaust on each side. I'll probably pick it up towards next weekend.
