Kufatec Xenons, need help

Hi hopefully somebody can give me some advice here because I really have no clue when it comes to this.

I recently bought an Audi A4 2008 model privately and the Xenon headlight on it were fine. I took the car to audi to have a minor fault fixed on the aircon which was covered by the warrantee but when I got the car back the high beam and daytime running light were not working. I took the car back and though further investigation Audi have told me that the Xenon headlights are copies made by a german company called Kufatec and although they are identical to Audi's the software on the is different to the software on the car so everytime Audi plug there kit in for a diagnostic it throws out the settings. Audi obviously doesn't have the correct coding for the Kufatec lights to make them work so the only thing they said they can do is replace them with Audi Xenons which cost almost £3000 which is Madness. I was wondering if anybody knows the codes for the software on these Kufatec headlights and if so how or who would I have to see to get them fixed.

Anyhelp would be much appreciated. Thanks

Audi told me that the headlights themselves were kufatec copies, I've found a kufatec website and emailed them but I've had no reply yet. There's a german phone number though. I suppose I would need to order a new set of instructions but how can I get the work done once I get the codes for the settings ?

It seems a lot of work for Kufatec to make a copy of the headlights, and besides it is not the headlghts that need coding, the headlights are controlled by two things.

1. Front control module J519 for which light is on, ie side light, indicator, low beam, main beam.

2. Xenon range control which is used to adjust the lights leve and cornering if they are adaptave.

Now if your lights were retrofit and not from the factory, then I guess that the Xenon range control has been added or is missing. Because some numpties fit Xenons without the range control units. I ask myself why would someone replace a perfectly good set of factory Xenons with a copy set from Kufatec, so it sounds like they have been upgraded from Halogens to Xenons, the factory thinks your car has Halogens and is programming the J519 unit accordingly, hence why things aint woring no more. Anyone with VCDS local to you should be able to recode the J519 for Xenons.

Is your car a new A4 B8 chassis or one of the last of the B7's?

Yeah I think that sounds like the sketch here, it does have the control units to and they must be fitted correctly because they worked perfectly when I bought the car. They only stopped working when I took the car to Audi to get the Gas recharged on the A/C that the settings where Knocked out when Audi did a diagnostic but they haven't got the stuff to re-programe them. I had a friend look at it with his Vag-com kit and he can't do anything either because he hasn't got the software. I think it's a B8 but I'm a bit of a novice when it comes to this stuff. I'm going to try and get a copy of the Kufatec instructions that come with the lights and hopefully be able to take those to someone who knows what he's doing. Cheers for the help
