hi, looking at a second hand A8 on 53 plate, but one problem, apparently the MMI comes on for a few seconds then stops working so no sound or other stuff available. Seller stated over the phone that it was a faulty phone module that was causing this to occur. not sure if this is b*s or the truth, said it was a common fault on the cars? Not seen the vehicle as it is a good journey but just wanted to check out if this is a poss or is it going to be expensive to repair. No point buying an A8 with out all the toys!! thanks to anyone with a helpful comment or info i can check if i look at the car to help maybe see if this is the actual fault? all the best.

If it's the phone module, then it's a couple of hundred to replace and you're as well upgrading to bluetooth while you're at it for the same price (car will likely have the old-style handset unit).

Where is the car? Might be someone nearby who could scan it for you for faults and tell you exactly what's wrong.
