cruiser647
Collected my 'new-to-me' 180 A6 Tdi on Saturday and drove it back to P'Bro. Cruising along the M6/A14 from Chorley. A very pleasant drive, and an easy car to drive. The manual box is a bit vague and 1st gear is really short. However, in crawling traffic the low early gears are a boon. Really comfortable seats, better than the leather ones in my other A6. The engine purrs nicely and makes a really decent sound. The brake discs and pads need changing as does the coolant temp sensor. Will do the sensor this weekend! I've now commuted in it all week and I like it! The thing can certainly shift when you want it too and never feels strained or harsh. There is a junction that I pull out of on my daily commute onto the A1 if I bypass a bottleneck and so need a quick getaway - this thing provides it. Unbeleivable really! I never thought it would move in such a manner. You know, I think it is nearly a match for my 2.7T (auto) . The gearbox does necessitate a fairly slow change though. I've put in some Millers Diesel injector cleaner and the exhaust soot is a lot less too. Tyres on it are sh1t - Goodyear Excellence - Trades Description act abuse here. Will have to change the fronts soon. Will check the MPG once I change the sensor. I can only imagne what the 2.7/3.0 and the *35d engines go like! Will stick up some pictures soon. Oh - usual pixelated Audi DIS
