abooyeung
Hi Everyone, I'm new to this forum but have been reading a lot of posts from around the world and getting a lot of good insights from you all. Thanks for sharing your experiences. I was wondering if anyone has ever tried using Zaino Bros car washing and polishing products. I have just ordered the complete "Zaino Bros' Total Protection Show Car Kit". I have heard lots of good feedback from some of my friends who have tried it and also some good feedback from some other posting on other BMW forums. It is supposed to give a great shine and "wet" look to the car. Anyway, I will be trying it out within the month, but just wondering if anyone has any experience to share about it. Thanks, abooyeung PHX, AZ "Grand Canyon State" USA

stilcrazee
I use a few Zaino Products. Z2 for clearcoat, Z5 works well for swirl marks and on dark cars, follow any application with Z6 detailer spray. I have also used Z10 for the leather, it cleans really nice and leaves a "new" leather smell. These are polishes not waxes, understand the difference. these polishes are polymers. When I have done my vehicles the applications last several months. I always use Z6 right after washing and depending on how dirty the vehicle may be I sometimes just use a California duster and Z6. Waxes usually contain just that wax, carnuba wax. They usualy last about a month depending on weather conditions and frequency of washing. Before you put any wax or polish on your vehicle, use a claybar to get the imperfections off. When I use a clay bar I don't follow the rules on the package. Most mfgs want you to use a detail spray to lube the bar and paint surface. I prefer to use car wash liquid straight with very little water, it makes a lather. It helps lube the paint and surface, leaves the soapy reside so I can see where I have worked and will wash off. Take a look at Zaino Bros site it is informative. Their product is a bit pricey but worth it. When applying, follow directions. A tip a local Zaino distributor gave me was before applying the selected pruduct to the applicator shoot a squeeze or two of Z6 on the applicator first to lube it. You only need a size of a dime on the applicator to do about 3 square feet on the car. let it dry completely til you can very lightly run the tip of your little finger over the dry area and the polish comes off. repeat coats with Z6 in between. Use a Cotton "terry cloth" towel to wipe off. I think Zaino sells towels. It is important to ake sure you don't use the edges or commercially sewn towel edges on your paint, it will scratch. Zaino's towels ate finished with cotton thread so as not to scratch. Or you can go to a bed bath and beyond or similar store and get towels and find someone with a sewing machine to sew the edges after cutting off the factory stuff. When washing and drying the towel, use NO fabric softners.
abooyeung
Awesome details. Thanks! I have the shipment of the Zaino coming this week and will definitely use your suggestions and experience. I'll let you know how it goes! I have some swirl marks that can be seen at low lighting at specific angles. I will be sure to use a few coats of the Z5 to take them out. Hopefully that will do the trick. I have attached a quick photo and will take more soon, but all in all, I am very please with the results. Very smooth to the touch!

abooyeung
Hi CARACTERE 007, Thanks for your post. I am not sure what HRE stands for. The rims are similar to the 2003 7 series or M5 rims... or so the rep said. have a great day!
jmiller
Zanio is a synthetic polymer wax, a compromise between a polymer sealant and a natural wax. Z-5 is a non-abrasive polish that’s helps to hide swirl marks and other surface imperfections without affecting the integrity of the vehicles clear coat protection. The polymers do not require a lengthy cross-link (cure) time as ZFX is formulated to accelerate the time requirements. Although Z-2 produces the most gloss of the polishes it is more optically clear then Z-5 and will highlight any surface imperfections. The brand is named ‘Show Car’ as it relies on a very thoroughly prepared paint film surface to produce the best results. It can be applied by hand or by using a random orbital buffer and foam pads. Application Methodology: (Z-7 Wash Concentrate, Z-2 and Z-5 Polish, ZFX Cure Accelerator, Z-6 Gloss Enhancer Spray) ·First, and most importantly, thoroughly prepare your paint film surface (Wash-Detailers Clay-Polish-Pre-Wax Cleaner) ·Wash again with Z-7, the vehicle is now ready for the Zaino treatment. ·Mix solution (one ounce of Z-5 or Z-2 in a mixing bottle, and add 4 or 5 drops of ZFX.Shake vigorously for one minute ·Wipe down the entire vehicle with Z-6 using 100% cotton Microfiber towel. ·Shake the Z-Solution again for 30 seconds. ·Lightly spray a Microfiber applicator with Z-6. You want the pad to be damp, not wet. Apply to whole vehicle (1-1.5oz should be sufficient for most vehicles) taking care not to apply to absorbent surfaces (i.e., unpainted plastics and rubber trim) Check the applicator pad frequently for any contaminants it may have picked up. ·First pass: apply (ultra- thin) apply the product to the entire vehicle, roof to floor on vertical surfaces (doors, fenders and skirts) and across on horizontal surfaces (roof, hood and trunk) ·Between each pass and after removing the residue, wipe down the entire vehicle with Z-6 and a clean Microfiber towel. ·Second pass (ultra- thin) apply in direction of airflow, horizontal surfaces hood to trunk, vertical surfaces front to back. ·Third pass (ultra- thin) and any subsequent layer(s): apply in same ‘direction of airflow’ ·As air is the primary catalyst for the wax to dry, low air temperatures and / or humidity may effect the drying time requirements. ·Remove the residue using clean using 100% cotton Microfiber towel, checking frequently for contaminants. ·Apply a solution of Z-2 + ZFX as the last coat ·Remove the residue using a clean using 100% cotton Microfiber towel, checking frequently for contaminants ·Finally using 100% cotton Microfiber towel wipe down with Z-6. Notes: 1.If the paint film surface has no imperfections use a Z-2 / ZFX solution in place of Z-5 2.Smearing is caused by not allowing the Z-5/ZFX to thoroughly haze. 3.Allow sufficient drying time, about 1 hour, do a quick swipe test with your finger. If no smearing or drag is evident, the residue is ready to be removed. 4.In colder weather you can wait as long a 36 hours between Z-5/ZFX application and buffing. 5.Unlike carnauba, Zaino can be applied in direct sunlight. The Z-6 dries very quickly so you need to work on very small areas. If it does dry apply a little more Z-6 and the product can be removed.
