robroy
Hi all.. I'm new to this board but it definately appeals as I have just placed an order for a new M3 Carbon black with Kiwi leather, 19" alloys, SMG, SAT Nav ... They say delivery will be around June in my case. Wanted one of these years before they even invented it. !!! Test drove an S4 before deciding ... No comparison..
Brabus
Welcome Rob! That's a great colour combo you chose there, I like it alot. Whereabouts in the world are you? Having a June delivery seems a long time to me... Congrats anyway, like you say the S4 doesnt come close! (except in snow )
sidicks
Welcome !! I test drove an S4 and a (used) RS6 before chosing the M3 (I originally had an S3). I can't say that I felt the M3 was that much of a better car. I wrote lots of posts about this, identifying lots of areas where I preferred the S4 and others where I preferred the M3. A lot of these were subjective things like looks, interior etc. On balance I decided the M3 was for me, mainly due to the lower expected depreciation, and also the fact that the car had been around a year or two and therefore hopefully had the teething problems ironed out - I've seen quite a few people with S4s who have had problems (although you could easily get a distorted view from reading forums like these, as no-one posts to confirm they haven't had a problem !) Looking forward to seeing some pics of your motor when you get it - we need more M3 drivers on here as we are a bit outnumbered by the Audi /VW brigade !! Lagoo
Welcome Robroy and esilvin to TS.net! Robroy, Can only say that June is a very long time to wait for your car! I got mine within 6weeks ( cancelled order ) which was spec amendable! Look elsewhere and play the dealers amongst themselves, get a good deal in the time frame that you want! Esilvin, nice coour choice there So what spec you going for? Get the lumbar support, i didnt and think i regret it Oh and the folding mirrors is one a regret missing too! [/ QUOTE ] Unless you are a tart, I suggest you get a Coupe, not a Cab.... That way you get 14-way multi adjustable electric seats as standard - don't need to bother about lumbar as it's already included, plus adjustable side bolsters as well ! (As the local tarts, Lagoo and Mark might disagree !) Folding mirrors are good fun and quite useful if you do a lot of 'on-road' parking. sidicks
esilvin
I have actually been on TS.net for a while but in a different forum (R32). In Switzerland the M3 comes with the folding mirrors . The specs are as follows: Professional GPS SMG2 19" wheels Harman Kardon Bluetooth phone kit Black leather interior Gray exterior. Cant wait to get it...... Brabus
Nice spec, I am also in Geneva. We should do a meet when you get your car Where did you order your car from? Glad to see you're making a wise move and getting a proper sports car. And welcome to the M3-owning world.

Anyway I have been told that the earliest delivery date will now be mid May (someones cancelled order) .. The spec on my car is as follows: M3 coupe Carbon Black Kiwi leather 19" alloys 6 disc CD changer Business navigation (didn't want tellivision as you can't watch it at 90 miles an hour!!!) Do you think my colour combo is good as I never actually seen it for real and it is still not too late to change ?? Will definately post pics when car arrives.. sidicks
If you look in the gallery, there are some pics of a few different colours, but for the best range, I suggest you log on to www.bm3w.co.uk As well as lots of useful stuff to consider when buying an M3, they have just about every colour combination in th gallery so you will be able to see if you've made the right choice. Personally, I wouldn't have gone for the Kiwi interior, although I do like the black exterior. You might like to reconsider the TV option - you might not think you'll use it much, but it might be a good option to have at trade-in time (not sure how much extra it costs ??). I certainly wish I'd had the TV/Sat Nav on mine. Apart from that it looks like you've ticked nearly every option box apart from electric rear sunscreen. I've got this, but haven't used it yet, 'cos it's not been sunny !! Sidicks

TOK
Hi RobRoy... here is a pic on carbon black with kiwi (there are also some good pics on this site as well.. but Im sure you guys have come across this already (LINK)
sidicks
Carbon Black is a nice looking colour, it looks quite aggressive and if you are enthusiastic with a bucket, sponge, polish and wax you won't be disappointed. However, black is notoriously difficult to keep clean and you may get frustrated at your car not looking its best all the time. As for the interior colour, I'm a big fan of dark interiors as I find them more 'intimate and luxurious', so I wouldn't choose kiwi or cream leather. If you want something a bit more exciting than black, Red looks nice, or there is a tan colour that would probably be my first choice with the black exterior. What interior trim are you going with ? I found the standard titanium trim a bit 'plasticky' and therefore specified the optional aluminium silver trim which looks fantastic with my black leather and grey exterior. If you've already seen Black with Kiwi in the flesh and like it then you should probably choose that, otherwise you'll regret it. If you've only seen pictures, then you really need to see a physical car with that spec as pictures can be deceptive. Hope you make the right choice !! sidicks

I've found out that the red interior is 'Imola Red' and the tan leather is 'Cinamon'. If you do manage to register, there is a buying guide which lists all the colours, options etc Let me know if you still have problems... sidicks
