Luke
Just wondering what sort of mpg golf R owners are achieving.
Matt R
I was getting around 28-30 mpg on long term average.
Biscuits
A lot depends on the type of driving. You'll not see much more than 24-25 commuting, 28-32 on a run.
Cuprabob
That's just about the same as I was seeing with my R32
Biscuits
Biggest disappointment (well, apart from under steer ) was the mpg I got from the S3... that 2.0TFSI engine likes a drop of the good stuff
Soulboy
Are these figures for R32s? Was the OP enquiring for Golf R, or Golf R32? I checked on the long term MFD on my Golf R yesterday (37 hours driving) and it was showing exactly 30 mpg. That's been mostly commuting and A road type stuff and no long motorway journeys. On the Rforum, people regularly get over 40mpg on long journeys.
Tipex
Ignore what the computer says, measuring it tank to tank yourself is the only accurate way, and it'll be less, hopefully not a lot less, but it will be less.

I stopped doing that when I realised how much less. I prefer the computer lying to me.

Wondered if the R was better.
TP27
Just wondering what sort of mpg golf R owners are achieving. I was achieving 32 mpg in the new R on a long run - fairly brisk driving on open roads coupled with stop start driving too. Not too bad.
