The new Chelsea FC manager is....

...Roberto Di Matteo. Pretty much every news source on the planet now saying he has been given the job after Abramovich failed to get Guardiola.

However, that's not all they're saying in Spain.

The Spanish sporting press are reporting that Guardiola has agreed with Manchester United to take over from Sir Alex Ferguson at the end of next season. Apparently Ferguson has said he wishes to retire after one more year, does not want to stay on as Director of Football, but will instead take on an Ambassador role offered to him by the club.

He's said to believe that staying at the club in any other capacity will put increased pressure on his replacement.

I'll be watching this one with interest, but the Spanish seem convinced it is happening and that it's the role Guardiola wanted.
