cruiser647
Service & MOT for wifey's A6. It's an A6 Avant 2.7T quattro auto with 210K miles on the clock. Passed! It has some slight oil leaks from where the variable cams seal into the cambox. 1 o2 probe is faulty. Needs a few other bits, but they can wait. Needs a cambelt next service! Needed new front pads too. So I did that myself today. £52 for pads. These brakes are a really neat 4 pad per wheel design. Much easier to change than the normal 2 pad design. So, not bad really. Happy with all that. The damn car just wafts along sooooo nicely. Unbelievably different ride to my own Y-reg A6 V6 quattro manual! Both wifey and I love driving it. Mook
Dread to think how many litres of fuel that's used in its 210,000 miles
Tipex
I'm sure someone could work it out based on its average MPG. Not me, but I'm sure someone could!
Mook
I reckon the 2.7T does about 19mpg, but let's say 20. So that's 210,000/20 = 10,500 gallons of petrol, so 47,670 litres. Assuming all at today's prices at about, what, £1.35 a litre, that's a whopping £64,354.

But, 99% of the time it's probably less than 19 mpg due to the short journeys wifey does in it. Edited August 6, 2012 by cruiser647
