Anyone know or is a CCTV installer?

I've bought some commercial CCTV equipment - a used 16 channel DVR with 4TB of storage and a couple of new anti-vandal cameras.

The DVR is a Quantum Vista Plus and has a password lock. I've tried the admin password that's in the manual and that doesn't work and the guy I got the equipment off didn't think it had been changed from the default so wasn't much help.

I've spoken to the manufacturer who don't deal with end users and an installer would have to contact them to have it reset as part of a service procedure.

Google shows me nothing either. Hoping somebody knows somebody who's come across this before and knows how to perform a factory reset.

Is it the ip connected one? Are you trying to login on the box, via web or thru the software?

We have loads of the vista plus ip boxes at work, I can check with the facilities guy on Monday. Iirc all the default passwords were either 00000000 or 12345678 (one or the other).... But if that's what the manual says I guess you tried them already!!!

It can be up connected but I can't login to the box to change any of the settings at all.

I need some way to do a factory reset I think. Maybe if the passwords are stored on the hard drive somewhere I could retrieve them in some manner - I don't know? It has a 2Tb and 2 x 1Tb drives and one of them must contain some sort of firmware/software. Given what I paid for the unit compared to what they cost new I'm prepared to endure a few trials and tribulations or expenses.
