Cuprabob
I honestly cannot believe that someone actually went to the bother of printing this dross Although there is small part of me wishes they would just to annoy those people with OCD who detail Plea to ban motorists washing their cars in the street - Telegraph
Tipex
Im going to write to the government and call for a ban on anyone driving their car, as it's bad for the environment and harms my business.
NewNiceMrMe
This was the subject of a short discussion on 5 Live yesterday. The story behind it is the real problem - it's a classic case of one body (petrol retailers association) not liking the fact that they've got competition. The car park 'hand washers' are taking trade from them and more and more people have turned away from forecourt washes because of the price of them and an increasing knowledge of the damage they can do. Peter Drury on 5 Live was very good in saying this to the guy from the association. Of course he denied it and quoted all the environmental guff, but you could tell the real motivation behind this has everything to do with money and bugger all to do with green issues. The answer is very simple - lower the price of automated car washes and make them more car-friendly.
DanG
Or, as the local place to me has done, embrace the change and hire some Polish workers and have them do a decent job.

DanG
No no, they actually seem to know their stuff. Microfiber mitts and hundreds of them. Microfiber towels and even clay! I watched before letting them have a go on my car. Happy to let them on it. Edited September 22, 2012 by DanG

If they are that worried by the 'environmental' issues, then they can make small bush areas where their old defunct car washes are now.

Happy to let them on it. Hmmmm, lambs wool mitts hold the damage away from the clear coat better. Do they continually turn the clay bar? That's tongue-in-cheek really. I'm like, so through with detailing. It's far too all-consuming. hell, I even used a garage jet wash the other day! I did blast the brush prior to the start of each panel though.
