Luke
A little while back I said that I'd try and get a pic of a 205 that was being restored. Well here it is. It's a quick shot as it started to rain

NewNiceMrMe
I have nothing to really criticise about the mechanics, performances or aesthetics of my GTi's (I can just about remember them). I had a 1.6 and a 1.9 (that's actually a very bold claim as I only had only of them 3 weeks before realising I should have got the 1.9). The interiors are absolutely woeful and the build quality is appalling, but as a fun car they're close to the top of the pile. Memory does tend to rose tint things though and they're not as quick as one might remember but the feedback was good. I never liked the blue. For me it was all about white or black. They sold very quickly back in the day too. Advertise one in Autotrader and you'd get 20 calls straight away. Most from dreamers but a fair few from middle aged men wanting to see if their Rover Vanden Plas was quicker as they all suspected it to be. I once had an interesting duel with a Renault Fuego Turbo (remember those?). It was interesting cos he left that road at about 40 mph and went straight through a gate into the middle of a field and came to rest in about a foot of water. Calm Chris
I drove mine for 15000 miles and sold it for £500 less than I paid for it. Highlights included driving straight over a grass roundabout having a chase with a Nissan bluebird turbo, and a chase on the M3 with a Renault 5 turbo that required both of us to hide from a Range Rover with blue flashing lights. It was a great little go cart, sold to a Harley st Doctor who gave me £7200 in cash for it. I'd never seen that much cash in £50 notes and was well disappointed that the "bundle" was so small. Torino101
When I sold my S2000 a few years back, a very dodgy bodybuilder type bought it off me cash for £14,000 all in £50 notes........ The bank teller was a mite suspicious when I was depositing! (Best car I ever owned for depreciation, lost £250 in 9 months and 10,000 miles ) Edited October 6, 2012 by Torino101
Ian_C
Miami blue is lovely if its been looked after and garaged and kept out the sun and not suffering the dreaded lacquer peel and fading
