Booster
I need to access an old hard drive in one of our work pc's. Purchased a drive docking station but it looks like the drive is too old for it. The docking station is for SATA drives and the drive I have only mentions ATA on the back. A quick google for ATA to SATA leaves me confused. Can anyone point me in the right direction for a cable or enclosure please? Cheers. Andy_Bangle
It's IDE. You need an IDE to USB or IDE to SATA convertor. Something like: http://www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=nb_sb_ss_i_1_10?url=search-alias%3Dcomputers&field-keywords=usb+to+ide+adapter&sprefix=USB+to+IDE%2Ccomputers%2C244 Maplin also do one: http://www.maplin.co.uk/ide-sata-to-usb-2.0-48965 ... depending on the age of your computers you may have IDE in them already: Top pic is IDE Bottom pic is SATA Edited November 26, 2012 by Andy_Bangle
