JoeNobody
I've just bought a new (to me) car, it's an almost 7 year old Volvo V50 diesel. Having had expensive issues in the past, albeit with turbo petrol cars, I'm considering a 3rd party warranty. A quick google suggests there's a massive choice available, but can anyone recommend one? Booster
They are all crap! Might as well save your pennies and take your chances IMHO!
Ian_C
Agreed. Self insurance is the best option here

If you're feeling unlucky, stick some money in an account each month, just in case.
JoeNobody
Fair enough It has done lower than average miles (45K in around 6.5 years) and has been serviced yearly at main dealers.
shao_khan
I discovered that the warrenty you can extend to with a used Audi also has more get outs than you'd like. ON my old A2 the warrenty specifically excludes all electrical issues and certain mechanical issues, so all in all a totally worthless £350. I'd just save some money each month and if it doent go bang, you have a nice sum to add to its replacement in a few years
Twinspark
I had one from Warranty Direct on our 156 Sillyspeed. (it's an import, so at 2 years old when we bought it, it had no Alfa warranty). Although it took a little persuasion, they paid out for a £2.5k Sillyspeed actuator repair after 12 months. So I'd happily use them again.
