stooH
We're looking at doing a proper family holiday this year rather than the annual trip to France and a weekend or two away. From looking at one or two options and not wanting to go hugely crazy on price Morocco seems a good option. We're taking the kids (will be 9 and 6) and looking at a combination of sights, locations and a bit of walking in the mountains. Has anyone been? What should we try and do, any suggestions on good places to go etc. I've already got a fair idea of itinerary and have been talking to a couple of family orientated tour organisers who are putting together some suggestions for me but want to try and get a decent selection into the trip. Currently i'm thinking 3 nights in Marrakech, 3 in the Atlas mountains with a bit of walking and 2 nights in Essaouria (port village on the Atlantic coast). I know that doesn't cover the desert, Casablanca or Fez but if it's that good we can always go back
Waylander
I know this is a bit after the Lord Mayor's parade. I have tried to look at Morocco loads of times for a cost-effective holiday but always seemed to find something else I fancied cheaper. All the womenfolk in the family (daughter/wife/sisters/mum/mil) went to Marrakesh in winter a few years ago and had a grand time. I would like to go and Agadir seemed a decent shout. When I did my due dilligence the feedback from people who had been was they enjoyed it Mid Aug: the one thing you might not have considered but looks like you may have lucked out on is Ramadhan - which will be over by ~10th Aug. let us know how you got in (if you go...ahem!)
