cruiser647
My A8 doesn't have them. . Looking through Autotrader adn eBay and quite few don't have them And although it is warming up nicely now and not really needed, it would be nice. Anyway, is this an option in the menu to operate them? Or is a software upgrade needed or VAG-Com setting? Or new seats, controller and heating control? PsYcHe
Seats, climate control unit for starters, maybe some wiring. Give A8parts a shout, they might know what you need.
Tipex
The only useful function heated seats have is for making people think they've p1ssed themselves, I mean, they warm the only parts of you that don't need warming.
Twinspark
The heated seats in my Golf warm the entire central part of the back rest as well as the squab. I don't know where you get the idea from that they only warm bits that don't need warming.

Because the bits of your body that are on the seat, aren't exposed to the cold air in the car, and warm up pretty much straight away through your own body heat. The seats in my Galaxy are heated all over, arse, back etc, and it was the same in my Mondeo, and the Skoda Superb except only the bottom half of your back, and I have found them to be utterly pointless in all the cars I've owned with them be they leather or cloth seats. patently
Well I love them. I wish had had specified them for the 911, then I could keep the roof down longer. None in the Caterham, but then again it doesn't have any seats as such at the moment
MichaelV8V
Or new seats, controller and heating control? The seats won't have the heaters in them, controller won't have the button to turn them on, and there won't be any wiring to the seats (every A8 has its own bespoke wiring loom, with only the options specified in there). You could go the whole OEM route, but it would probably be easier and cheaper to change the car, or you could look at some of the aftermarket kits on ebay

Oh well, I'll live without them then. Not exactly a hardship. Thanks
beemerboy9
I had some tailored sheepskin seat covers from these folks Easirider Company Ltd - Sheepskin Seat Covers in my D2 and cannot recommend them highly enough. Ask for the same fabric that the transatlantic pilots use ......

patently
Sorry, still chuckling at the thought of going dogging in a Caterham Q: What do you call a couple who have had sex in a Caterham? A: Contortionists Mind you, if she can get into the thing in the first place, that's probably a good sign.
garcon magnifique
Re heated seats in the Caterham, can't you just reroute the exhaust?
