Insurance and Trackers

My mate bought a Q7 with a tracker. He was going to get it activated but hadn't got around to it. Three days after getting the car it was nicked. Fortunately Tracker agreed to a restrospective activation (which did cost him) but at least it mean the insurer didn't get on his case. The track located the car in hours and he got it back.

Well that is what I thought you could do. If you need them to turn it on they rightly charge you much more, but that is the choice you make. On that basis then I reasoned a 'yes' to whether one is fitted was appropriate. However, it made no difference to the price either way.
