News_Stig
Turbo 6 or a V8? Which would you choose? Is there room for 'a little one' in this burgeoning market? The Mazzanti Evantra is the latest entry into the supercar fray. Designed by Hungarian Zsolt Tarnok and built in Italy, the Evantra appears production-ready from these photos. The customer cars will be offered with two engines; one is a turbocharged six-cylinder unit with around 600 bhp, the other a 7.0-litre V8 with 700 bhp and 625lb ft of torque. Power is transmitted to the rear wheels through a six-speed Sila Holding sequential gearbox. OZ wheels and Brembo brakes complete the dynamic package so far. With aluminium panels, the Evantra should be light, with Mazzanti claiming a kerb weight of 1300 kg. This can be further reduced with carbon brakes and body panels. There are bold performance claims for the car too. The 0-62 mph sprint is reputed to be dispatched in 3.5 sec, while the top speed is in the region of 217 mph. The Evantra's most distinctive exterior design feature is the rear-hinged doors, a system unique to Mazzanti. The interior is as distinctive as the styling, with a gearshift indicator mounted in the steering wheel, a roof-mounted engine start button and huge swathes of purple leather. Mazzanti says only five will be produced each year, and each car will be individually personalised.
