Torino101
Can somebody point me in the right direction? I'm looking for basic a basic CCTV solution, using a single webcam at the point of entry to a business that records on a say 48hour loop to a pc that would be designated purely for this purpose. Rather than go down the route of CCTV, are there webcams that come with software with the ability to do this?? The quality does not have to be great. Also what sort of size HD would you need to record permanantely for 48 hr's in a row???? HUGE? Or do they have the option of motion sensing so switches off when no one is there? Any help? Andy_Bangle
Go to Y Cam's website and look at "Home Monitor". It saves 7 days to the 'cloud' with remote access Wireless IP Home Security Cameras - Wi-Fi Network Cameras | Y-cam Solutions If you really want a dedicated PC (which could be stolen or problematic) then storage will depend on the resolution of your cam: If the res is 640 x 480 MPG then it will require 970Mb/per hour. Or do they have the option of motion sensing so switches off when no one is there? Yes, using motion detection you can set up (email, SMS) alerts, a zone in the frame etc. Edited June 21, 2013 by Andy_Bangle
