News_Stig
The engine is likely to be smaller, BUT twin turbo'ed. Wonder if it'll still be called a C63? Only 1 picture, as I am sure you've all seen a car covered with plastic already The Mercedes-Benz C-class C63 AMG has been spotted testing at the Nürburgring. These latest spy shots show the test model on its way to the famous circuit having left Mercedes' test facility. There is less camouflage on this test mule than previous examples, revealing larger air intakes on the front bumper as well as double exhausts on either side of the rear bumper. Mercedes is likely to use a twin-turbocharged 4.0-litre V8 engine in the C63 AMG. Sources suggest Mercedes will also retain a seven-speed Speedshift gearbox for the car. While a nine-speed transmission is already under development, it isn't likely to feature until the new E-class breaks cover. The C63 AMG will be rear-wheel drive as standard, however Mercedes' 4Matic four-wheel drive system will be available as an option. The car is expected to arrive towards the middle of next year, after the standard C-class has made its debut at the Detroit motor show next January.
