Andy_Bangle
The breach compromised a database that included unencrypted passwords, leading to the change. eBay officials say no financial data was implicated, and they haven't seen any uptick in fraudulent activity in the wake of the breach. The breach was first discovered two weeks ago, but took place some time between late February and early March, when attackers compromised a group of employee log-in credentials, allowing access to the larger database. In addition to passwords, the database contained basic login information like name, email, phone number, address and date of birth, but officials stressed that no confidential or personal information was included in the breach. Strangely I consider my name, address and date of birth as 'personal' info!!
CarMad
I was at an update from one of our security advisers recently that ebay/paypal had a big flaw in their Mobile App as well and they had been told about it but still had chosen to ignore the potential of the flaw. Considering their position in the market and they are making such a play for mobile payments that issue and this breach now I'd be thinking twice about using them considering their approach to security. Tipex
I've never been able to get the mobile PayPal payment thing to work, every time I put in my password it tells me I need to add some code to the end of the password, only I've no idea what the code is, nor have they ever told me, and there is no way to find out. CarMad
That might be some sort of two factor authentication you might have turned on in a profile, I've not used it so can't help more than that.
