Cuprabob
I'm hearing there was a bad crash in the race for the pre-1966 Grand Prix cars with a driver being airlifted to hospital. Anyone know any details and the condition of the driver?

garcon magnifique
Very sad news. Historic racing is my favourite form of Motorsport as a trackside spectator. So it pains me to see another fatality. There will rightly be a full investigation and review of how pro- and re-active safety could be improved. Unfortunately this will also add ammunition for those who would declare historic venues and cars (and bikes) as too dangerous for the modern age. Whatever that means. Most of all, condolences to Denis's family and friends.
Tipex
It's very sad, but it just shows how dangerous racing was back then, for the cars to still be killing people today is frankly ridiculous, but then if people weren't prepared to take the very real risk that modern racing drivers no longer face (in the same way), we'd never get to see these old cars used in anger. Cuprabob
Sad news and my thoughts are with the driver's friends and family.....RIP
M8CKN
Very sad news, but as already said old racing cars are amazing to watch but when it goes wrong... I'm sure the driver knew the risks and ultimately died doing something he loved. RIP
