theduisbergkid
As I recall, my first post on TsN was along the lines of "I've got £1500 for a cheap sportscar" which resulted in the purchase of my rotbox MX-5. Well, the same car is now (kind of) a little bit famous. Here's my history of the MX-5. Feedback, good and bad, is always welcome (I'm still new to this lark)... patently
I think you like those pop-up headlamps a little bit more than is healthy?

patently
Mazda gearbox is so good that it has now found its way into the current models of a certain long-lived and much-raced British sports car...
theduisbergkid
Love the speedster! Me too. It was beautifully finished, no corners cut. The owner drove from Eastbourne all the way up to Donington in the pouring rain to help make the video. I had to harangue him by text "weather lovely here" to stop him from abandoning his journey as I was really keen to include it in the finished video. If you google "MX5 restorer" you'll find his website. He also brought along a lovely turbo'd MK1 to the MotorPunk trackday, a really nice chap too. You could put pop-up headlamps on a modern Peugeot and I'd buy it. I'm a sucker for 'em.
SirTK
Nice video lads. Interesting that the pop-up headlights on the MX5 seemed not to copy the Elans, in that; - both come up at once - both go down at once - they don't break, both in the down position, at night Clearly the Elans had a similar control system for their (revolutionary at the time) electric windows as they always failed in the down position when it was raining.
drpellypo
Oh I spent many an evening manually winding up my headlights on my mx5. Especially fun when it rained! Even more fun when one would come up and cause the other to go down.
