Go Kart Crash Compilation

We've shared some fixtures with kart racers.  They are completely insane.  Some classes go well over 60mph when they're let out somewhere like the Hangar Straight.  When we last shared Silverstone with them, it was torrential, too.

No cage, nothing to crumple, just a leather jump suit.  At 80mph+ in the rain, heading towards Stowe in a pack of several others

Look out for the guy at 50 seconds if you want a 3-second explanation why you won't catch me doing that!

Yeh, I'd noticed that one. I thought he'd broken his neck the way his head rolled back.

I'll sponsor your Superkart season, if you like  ;)

Powered by a 2-stroke 250 cc engine producing 62 hp for an overall weight including the driver of 205 kilograms, Superkarts have a power/weight ratio of 440 hp/tonne (330 W/kg)(c.5 lbs/hp). Superkarts can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in less than 3 seconds with a top speed of 155 mph (250 km/h).%5B8%5D Their low weight and good downforce make for excellent cornering%5B9%5D and braking abilities.%5B10%5D A Superkart is capable of braking from 100 mph (160 km/h) to standstill in around 2 seconds, and taking corners at nearly 3 g(30 m/s²).[11

Some of those crashes were terrifying, karting is brilliant fun - just don't get the time to more than the occasional arrive and drive at Daytona MK or Esher for their 40 min races - 2nd out of 30 in August was last outing which was pleasing, seeing as most of the drivers were half my age and weight!
The 125cc 2 strokes are flipping quick but nothing like those 60bhp shifter karts - that's on another planet. The only thing I've driven anywhere near as quick was my boss's rotary engines (50bhp) tony kart beast - proper handfull even with the front disc brakes operated by pulling behind the steering wheel whilst balancing with the foot operated rear brakes!
