ChaiHal
Anyone have any idea how long warrenty work is covered for? I had an issue with my S3 which was fixed under warrenty on 11th February 2011. The problem was water leaking through an incorrectly fitted roof rail that ended up in the Bose unit in the boot causing some weird and wonderful loud noises to come from a random speaker. All's been fine up until this week when it's started again. I'm going to call the dealer tomorrow to see what they say, but it would be good to get some idea where I stand as the car is now well out of the warrenty period. drpellypo
I'm not sure about labour, but I know genuine audi parts, regardless of who they are fitted by, carry a 12 month warranty, and if they fail within that, audi cover the parts and labour to fix. Cuprabob
Normally any parts replaced free of charge under warranty inherit the warranty of the part they are replacing, which is normally when the manufacturer's warranty on the car expires. Labour is normally 6 months. VAG parts which have been bought or part paid for have a 24 month wsrranty. ChaiHal
I had a horrible feeling this would be the case, but I'll see what the local dealer says. Cheers for the prompt answers.
drpellypo
Sorry - yes - it's 24 months not 12. My mistake.
Tipex
Most manufacturers guarantee parts fitted under warranty for either the remaining length of the warranty, or one year, whichever is longer. I think they'll tell you to do one over work carried out in 2011, but it never hurts to ask.
