Andy_Bangle
Kimi Raikkonen will stay on at the Ferrari Formula 1 team for the 2016 season, he will partner Sebastian Vettel for the second year in succession. The retention of Raikkonen is likely to trigger a sequence of driver signings and renewals. It effectively seals off any ‘big move’ hope for the likes of Bottas and Force India’s Nico Hulkenberg, meaning that Bottas is likely to stay with Williams alongside Felipe Massa, whose option from the team’s side to re-sign him expires next month. bazza_g
Thats a shame, I was really hoping to see Bottas in a Fezza!
CarMad
Yeah he has done very well and proven to be a solid and fairly racey driver. I wonder if the problems with his back are a concern or just that they will wait to see what happens for another year when he is out of contract. Cuprabob
I think Vettel knows where he is with Kimi and I'm sure that played a part on the decision.
Mook
I wonder how much an individual driver's preference plays in the retention of a team-mate, or with someone like Ferrari, they just decide what's going to happen anyway.
jimdiesel
One of the issues with Bottas is that he has not consistently out performed Massa. And Ferrari know all about Felipe, so they have a good reference point.
Andy_Bangle
According to the Daily Telegraph, "Williams had been holding out for around £10 million to release Bottas from his contract, with rumours that Ferrari thought it too high a price to pay for a driver who has had an unconvincing season."

jimdiesel
Given Valteri is the new wonder kid and Felipe is a washed up has been that's not good enough.
Andy_Bangle
Bottas & Massa staying with Williams and Hulkenberg is staying at Force India. So unless Jenson retires, the only driver changes we'll see will be at Manor and Lotus most likely, plus 2 additional drivers.

Arch
Talking of driver line ups, i was sat at the Quacks this morning reading a Top Gear from 2003 where they had the new season line ups. So many names I'd kind of forgotten about such as Pizzonia, HH Frenzten and Fisichella. With light of sad recent events, took a snap of the Minardi section. I really can't believe it was that long ago he entered F1. RIP JW.
