Andy_Bangle
Seems it's transfer day in F1: Valtteri Bottas joins Lewis Hamilton at Mercedes for 2017. Williams have announced Felipe Massa is coming out of retirement to rejoin the Formula One team in place of Valtteri Bottas this year. Next up VALENTINO ROSSI? Mook
Rossi in F1, although would be great for publicity for Monster, or whoever he's sponsored by just now, wouldn't end up with a happy ending. Biking legend - just leave it at that
burble
I can see Rossi moving to F1 at some point but not until his new team mate starts beating him in MotoGP. Personally though I think it would be a bad move, he's a MotoGP legend but as good a rider as he is, that doesn't necessarily translate to him being a top F1 driver. I'd rather he ended his career as a top class MotoGP rider than an average F1 driver.
Cuprabob
Alonso is still not happy... Formula 1: Fernando Alonso criticises engine after testing disappointment - http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/formula1/39212377
burble
Is he ever happy? He's known in our house as the Grumpy Spaniard. I don't blame him though, that Mclaren is an absolute dog. Alonso is a fantastic driver and it's a shame to see him with such a pile of sh1t to drive.
Mook
Can't say I blame him either - McHonda isn't doing any of their sponsors any favours at all!
Cuprabob
I can see him walking and Jenson back in the car.
garcon magnifique
I'd be surprised if Button came back to drive a car that's so bad Alonso walked away. Unless he's really missing it. Which I doubt - he'll have far more fun rallycrossing.
burble
Yeah, I can't see JB coming back

burble
No, he's an 'advisor and observer' and will be doing work in the simulator. The reserve drivers are Oliver Turvey and Nobuharu Matsushita according to the Mclaren website.

garcon magnifique
I predict the main thing he'll be observing is the champagne fridge.
Cuprabob
As an aside it's Pastor's 32nd birthday today. Hope no one "crashes" his birthday party... Edited March 9, 2017 by Cuprabob
burble
It's not even champagne it's distinctly average (in my opinion) sparkling wine.

Cuprabob
Now the new orange livery for McLaren makes sense. Their new sponsor is the RAC....
burble
They'd probably be better of racing an RAC Transit than their F1 car.
Cuprabob
At least Alonso can see a positive. When asked if he was taking Turn 3 flat out he responded by saying he can take every corner flat out:-)

Cuprabob
McLaren now putting ultra softs on the recovery truck for the afternoon session. What will do the most mileage, the car or the recovery truck? I guess it's best to find all these issues during testing rather than during the race....#clutchingatstraws Seriously it's actually painful to see the once great team and Honda in such a bad way. You would have thought the might of Honda would have had it sorted by now. Edited March 10, 2017 by Cuprabob
Mook
This is what, their third season with Honda? Yes it's a shame, but holy crap, someone needs a KERS up the arse to sort it out.
burble
I can see the relationship between Honda and Mclaren falling apart completely if 2017 isn't a bit improvement on previous years.
