motty
Is the standard alarm sufficient or do most owners go for something else?
shao_khan
I left the standard one - it is cat1 and all most insureres require. You might want a tracker perhaps, but other than that the only real things an aftermarket alarm will offer is anti-hijack fascilities and stuff like that - depends on your own worries I guess. Rich_32
I've just fitted tilt and shock sensors to the alarm because i had the wheels nicked a coulple of weeks ago, im told the standard alarm is a good one, but it didn't go off so i've upgraded the security. Other points: you can have the "beep" on the alarm turned on if you want, ask the dealer. And make sure you fit some McGard locking wheel nuts (i've got two sets on, some have put three sets on) as the VW are pointless.
AnthonyB
Did you have the tilt and motion added to the standard alarm? If so, who did this for you and is it straight forward? Wosit cost? Cheers, Anthony..
Rich_32
Hi, yeah they added it to the standard alarm, i had to leave it with them for the day, nice guys VERY enthusiastic and knew what they were doing, there was another R32 there that had had the works, remote starting loads of ICE (not my thing but impressive all the same.) They charged me £150 which seemed ok to me? this is them: - http://www.audioimages.co.uk/ they're in the centre of Bradford.
