Ari
If I wanted to print a CD box cover, what size would the image need to be in pixels?
russellfray
I'm not sure - put you can't measure it in pixels, you have to measure it in inches/cm as pixel size changes depending on monitor/resolution/printer.
scooby_simon
Found it 119 mm by 119mm
Mollox
The size in pixels will change relative to the resolution of the document. Its 12x12 cm so set that as your document/image size and then adjust resolution to whatever you want
Ari
Weird thing is, when I set it to 12X12 and copy it and paste it into the Word doc for printing it cuts bits off it!
Mollox
How come you're printing it in word? I never trust Microsoft for images. What are you using to make it??
loys
I'm using CoverXP. This tool renders evry image to the predefined size. It knows the size of CD, DVD etc etc
Ari
Ok, what I have is a Word doc, the parameters of which line up with some specific CD Cover paper. The idea is that you put the A4 sheet into the printer, put the image into the Word Doc which places it in the right place, print it and then you just tear off the excess (it's all pre scored etc) and it leaves you with a perfect CD cover. Only problem is, when I make the image the right size for the CD and copy and paste it into the right section of the Word Doc it crops the bottom off the picture! Colin M
You're confusing resolution with print size. Word must be handling the image at a certain pixel rate. If your image is 12cm x 12cm and the resolution for a monitor, say 72dpi, then your image will be 340x340 pixels. For decent print quality you need at least 200dpi, so the image should be 945x945 pixels. You should check the help in Word, see what resolution it likes and then set your image resolution accordingly. I also think Word is a nasty piece of software for image handling. Why not just print using your image software and mark your cut lines in the image or after?
russellfray
[ QUOTE ] crops the bottom off the picture! [/ QUOTE ] Is it cropping when you print, or when displayed on screen? If it's on screen, then you probably have a border set on the image or on the table or whatever it is you are pasting it in to. Right click, select properties, and look for border/margin settings and set them all to 0 - that might fix it. Russ.
