slimbloke
is it just me, or does the 4 doors make it look like an estate?
gizze
No it's not just you, that is what they are trying to achieve, a small sporty estate. The didn't want to use teh avant name so called it sportback. I was just about to order a 2.0T DSG sport from oneswoop, but I think I am going to wait for the S-line now, looks superb,I really like the rs6 style alloys and they are not available on the sportback yet, and I love the silver speed cloth, so I hope that will be available. cheers 18ME
Fairfax
It does look good. I'm thinking that if that was available at the same time I had to order mine I would have had a tough decision on me hands! Minor point but it's good to see that Audi have put an S Line grille badge on as standard instead of us non-quattro A4 S liners sticking one from VAG parts on ours
Cupramax
I'm liking that a lot, apart from that steering wheel... prefer the one in the 3 door.
Simonl
It's like a pocket sized RS6 Although that steering wheel does look like it belongs on an Austin Alegro
MDA2000
does have that estate look to it.......and yes steering wheel looks awful........ Not too sure it is big enough to get away with the new style front end either......any one know from when the new grill is included. I have an S-line due to arrive October and am not sure I want that new look.......also not sure i would want that wheel either...
Simonl
If yours is a 3 door it won't have either
18ME
Have you noticed in the picture that the seats are embossed with S Line, is this std on the 3 door S Line. I was surprised when I set in a 3 door the other day that there is no thigh support on the A3 sports seats like there is on the A4, which I'll miss. Unless if you spec full leather..do you get it then?
MDA2000
Oh thats cool then....I thought it was the new lookl for the entire range as have seen it on an A6 which is big enough for it to look reasonable..........
_Tone_
Def looks like an estate ooerr sorry Avant!
gizze
It is meant to look like an estate, originally they said there would be a 3 door and an avant, they dropped the avant name as they didn't feel it was quite big enough to give it the avant name and thought it would appeal to a younger audience if it was called sportback. Simonl
I think it looks ok, it needs the s-line upgrade to make it look beefy though. I reckon the basic se versions are gonna look crud on the road.

SolidUK
Was down in Picadilly tonite and popped into the Audi showroom near Green Park Tube, they had a gorgeous S4 in there as well as the new A3 SPortback in red. Had a seat inside, lovely interior, superb build quality as expected, alu finish fascias but OMG that steering wheel is Uuuuuuuuuuuugly!. The Sportback looks MUCH more agressive in the flesh than in AUdi UK's pics on their website, and that grill is seriously gorgeous, even better when you see it in flesh, better than the A6 as well, more aggressive. All in all very impressed with the aesthetics of the car, will have to wait on handling reveiws come september
