Odsal102
I've been running a new 2.0tdi dsg for 3 weeks and on a small number of occasions - 5 so far - when you stop with the car in gear on low- or no-revs, it just stalls. Restarts fine, but I can't think this is a "normal" running behaviour of the dsg and/or the tdi. Has anyone else had this problem? Any thoughts anyone, before I return to the dealer? _Tone_
I have noticed that this happens with me when the car is cold. Only happens when it hasnt been run for a few hours. I was going to raise it with my dealer when I was next in town. It should not do it though... Tone
aarona3dsg
I'm on my second 2.0 TDI DSG and have had this problem with both of them. At the first junction I stop at every day (ie when engine is cold) it always sounds as though it is about to stall, but just about manages to stop itself. On a number of occasions when changing from reverse to drive the engine has actually stopped, this has happened with the engine both cold and at running temp. RobK
Mine has only ever stalled first thing in the morning. I reversed out of the drive, put it in D and pressed the throttle lightly and it stalled. It does worry me when it rolls backwards when in D though, when stopped on a hill. smokeyjoe
Mine was fine when new, but has now covered 6800 miles and has started to stall - usually when first putting into R or D when cold. Also the engine 'hunts' when idling in traffic when cold and sounds like it is going to cut out, but hasn't done so yet. I also don't like the way that the car rolls back when in D on a hill. You can't use the handbrake with the centre armrest down anyway.
