Oil Burning!

Ok I know Diesels do burn a bit of oil but I've done about 9,000 miles in my car and had to put in about 2 litres of oil so far! Is this normal? I'm using the 0w-15W stuff that comes with the car, would anyone recommend moving to a slighty heavier oil or will that really bugger up my long life servicing thingy?

Done almost 6500 miles in 5 months. Have put a small amount of the 1L supplied with the car in and the dipstick is still showing 3/4 in the oil sump. Seems to be better than the old A4 (130TDI SPort)which had 1L and had 25000 on the clock.

The dealer said it drinks more during the first 10k - but advised using their oil and said they "give" me more if I needed it? (Something for nothing from Audi?)

I bought my car with 50k on it in May and it has now got 65k on it and I checked yesterday and it is right near the max line.

The ML270cdi we had before used 3 litres! we got rid of it with 13,000 miles on the clock, so it obviously gets better as they get more miles on them.

The 320d Auto touring we had before that was great too, took it to 42k and never touched the oil.
