Arrrghhh still 6 days to go

Jeez, I wish time would hurry up so it was 6 days from now.

Every minute that ticks past I'm thinking "should have cancelled and waited for new model. Should have ordered black headlining. Should have got sports pack. Should have got PhatBox. Should have bought another Jag. Should have got a petrol instead of diesel. Should have got a convertible...".

I wish I just had the damn thing on the driveway as I would be too busy playing with all the gadgets to think about all the above!!!

Dealer called again just to update me and say it's definitely being loaded on to the transporter on Monday, but the transporter people will have to let me know whether it's being delivered Tuesday (HOPE SO!!!) or Wednesday as it depends how many drop-offs they have to do before getting as far as me. I don't fancy the idea of my car sitting on the back of a transporter overnight in some dodgy motorway service cafe frown.gif And I SO much want to have both '54 cars delivered on the 31st so we can both sit there revving waiting for midnight.

Russ.

Hmmm just realised... it's being picked up on the Monday so even if i DO get it on the Tuesday, the car will be on it overnight Monday. My Poor Car!!!

I bet my car will be the one at the top on the front too which means it will be filthy and covered in motorway crap and flies when it gets dropped off smile.gif

Mmmm my Cab is being delivered tomorrow (Thurs 26th) @ 9.30am...... It has been insured since 16th August and it suits the dealer to deliver early - shame I can't legally drive it until next Wednesday though......it will be on my personal plate so a cheeky spin around the estate perhaps?

It would only need me to drive past one of those automated road fund licence validation cameras and I'd be right in the dung.gif

As you suggest though Russ I do get to play with the toys, give it a proper polish, Scotchgard the interior etc.

An in the meanwhile I'm getting from A to B in a base Ford Ka the only plus point is 46mpg!

Just like my A3 was when I went to see it at the dealers a couple of weeks ago....and had a mig bird cr4p on the bonnet and I had to tell the salesperson to get it cleaned off pronto. It was baked on so its probably left swirl marks - if it has then I'll be well sportifs2.gif

I'm in a slightly different mindset now because of this - I would even go as far as saying that I'm dreading picking it up as my last new car experience led to me having to reject the car and get another. So i'll be looking all over the car for marks, dents, scratches and other things to make sure its perfect BEFORE I hand over the dosh.......

Hmm. You're actually quite lucky, if you look at things relatively. I can't get my dealer to confirm when I can pick my car up. Back in June he said it should arrive mid-August therefore well in time for Sep 1st registration. Last week he said within 10 days - "fairly confident". Today he doesn't reply to my message.

Things are looking decidedly dicey. confused.gif

Only 4 days left now - and I've finished work until next Friday so now it's a case of sitting at home with nothing to do until the car arrives... and watching the second hand on the clock go backwards...!

My V5 document arrived in the post this morning, glad to see all the details are correct etc smile.gif

shtf.gif Jealous, jealous, jealous.

My openfire.gif dealer emailed today to say my car is still in Germany... so that makes a Wednesday pick-up rather improbable, then. I'm some considerable distance from happy as you can imagine. The only consolation is that he has agreed to deliver the new car and pick up my current one.

Still, I don't want to be all gloomy. Good luck to everyone who gets their car on Wednesday and enjoy every second. beerchug.gif

Thanks smile.gif

If you have an order number, you can call Audi customer services and they should be able to tell you when it will be delivered to the dealer.

I phoned them up and they were spot on.

I believe that they transport over the weekend, and it won't be a bank holiday in Germany on Monday I don't think. It probably only takes 24 hours from factory to dealer as it's truck/ferry/truck - so you could still be on target for Wednesday. Definitely worth a phone call.

Russ.

Cheers Russ,

I'll do just that.

It may be in hope more than expectation as my dealer did not sound at all convinced about arrival within a week. But I appreciate your post.

I look forward to witnessing your joy in 5 (so nearly 4) days time.

James
