Andeh
Thanks SixDegrees, much appreciated. Am over the moon with the car, it needs a bit of tidying up coz it's been in London all it's life. It's a 95 (m) and has only done 66k which is pretty good for golf of it's age. Bit of a step up from my 1.6 Corsa Sport eh ? ;P p.s lucky git owning an R32.

R32North
Aye, keep it looking smooth and clean. Simple lines, no spoilers or tails, neon or MaxP nonsense. GTi is way to good for that guff!
Andeh
Yeah dead right. Smooooooooth is the best way. MaxPoo can keep their naff ideas to themselves. Off hand, do you know of any issues i should be aware of with the mk3 Gti's ? Failing that, where i could find out. Ta muchly.
Skidmark
Welcome .............good choice of motor Had an early one, L reg, as company car for 3 years [106k], we bought it from lease company for my wife & ran it to 146k, now my son is running it and is close to 180k....good ? It had new ECU at 60k due to hesitation problem....new ctr exhaust section & cat around the 80-90k due to rot & w&t....fitted Eiback springs & Konis at 110k....this made a big improvement While it was at AMD for a suspension check, had it on rollers....gave 164 brake with 110k on the clock...very good IMHO Changed clutch at 138k...still ok but pedal at the top....timing belts @ 70k (I think ? dealer !) and 130k (me) The coil failed at 165k [difficult to find ??] and its on its 3rd wiper motor....! All things considered, it is a good package..enjoy
MattR32
My last car was a 1997 ® 3dr mk3GTI 16V - Had it for three years. Super reliable, pretty quick, and well made. Dad still has one and I had a good thrash in it over the weekend. Nostalgic fun!
