NewNiceMrMe
If I did, I wouldn't be paying £50+ per month for all the channels available!

Big_Dan
It's a con ... The viewing card has a built in limit of about 40 quid on PPV events (box office and the like) before it stops letting you get stuff for "free" As soon as you connect the phoneline, it'll dial up and pass on the charges. The other thing they suggest doing is inserting a predial code in the set up to stop the box connecting. (same 40 quid limit applies) Last time this did the rounds, 123 was put in there - the speaking clock got dialled a million tim,es at 10p a go ... d'oh! danksy
There is allegedly a way of using a slight hack to get free ppv, but not free sky in total. It works something like this... 1. Unplug phone line. 2. Order PPV events up to the credit limit (this is the £40 Dan mentioned). Since the card holds the amount charged, you can ring sky and tell them your dog ate the card, then they send you a new one. I also heard of someone that managed to connect via the serial port on the back of their sky box and erase the ppv balance on the card!
danksy
I probably should have added that it wont be long before $ky reduced the level of credit on the cards to maybe 1 free event! I think £40 is a bit excessive, i suppose that they dont want customers to miss out if their phone line isn't working, or busy, when they try to get a PPV event.
