badgera
Our few month old Sky + box seems to be getting worse at addition. With only a single program of 7% recorded it shows 29% free space. What happened to the rest of it. I've tried rebooting a number of times but no joy. Anybody know any other way to reset it, or cure this problem. Thanks

Big_Dan
There's a house keeping function built in to cure this Services - 4 - 0 - 1 - Select to get to the hidden menu and do a planner rebuild when it isn't recording anything.
Newbie123
They'll get you to re-format the drive to try and correct it, obviously that will wipe anything you've got recorded so watch it before you ring them Edit: or just do as Dan said , does that wipe what you have already recorded Dan? danksy
I have had to use the same solution Dan explained a few times now, always with success and it doesn't seem to have deleted anything i wanted to keep, but freed up the space! I noticed the programs causing most trouble seemed to be those with 5.1 sound! I seem to remember losing a series link though! The other method would be to do a full reset of the box, (which would lose everything even items flagged "to keep". NB sometimes it can take up to 4 full resets to resolve certain (software) problems. Apparently this is due to the software allowing simulatenous recording/viewing on 2 channels! There are two ways of doing this... 1. In the services menu go to housekeeping and do a full reset, this will delete any recorded programmes, even if they are market as keep. 2. Switch off your receiver at the mains Press and hold the backup button on the front of the receiver. Switch the receiver on at the mains . Once all lights have illuminated on the front of the Digibox, release the backup button. If your box is connected via Scart cable you will receive a message on the screen . Once the reset has finished, the box will revert to standby.
